Workforce Outcomes Dashboard

Led by Achieving the Dream (ATD), the project seeks to create new institution- and system-level dashboards with post-college student outcomes that can be adopted across Ohio’s community colleges to help them attract and advise students and identify and redesign programs to bolster social and economic mobility.

Funder: Coleridge Initiative’s Democratizing Our Data Challenge through Ascendium and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Goals:

  • Create a prototype of new institution- and system-level dashboards of post-college outcomes using data from two Ohio pilot institutions
  • Create a sustainability and scalability plan for growing adoption across the Ohio community college system and for adoption by other institutions and states
  • Build the capacity of community colleges to use workforce data in the dashboards to attract and advise students as well as identify and redesign programs to bolster economic returns for students

Partners: Achieving the Dream, National Student Clearinghouse, Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, and Vantage Point Consulting

Timeline: FY23 – FY27

How Colleges Can Engage: Lorain County Community College and Marion Technical College are currently piloting the dashboards, with the plan to scale across Ohio’s community colleges (more information to come).

Results So Far: Early findings from the Workforce Outcomes Dashboard show the successful development of a prototype dashboard, aligned with Ohio’s funding model, that links education and workforce data to display employment and earnings outcomes for community college graduates. This report shares feedback from pilot colleges on using the tool for recruitment, advising, and program review.
