Dr. Bob Haas joined Marion Tech in 2001 as a Business and IT faculty member after 25 years leading a private family electronic, computer, and internet business. He earned a BA in Math Education from Ohio Northern, a Master’s in Adult Education and online learning from the University of Phoenix, and a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Toledo. He has held a variety of positions at Marion Tech, including faculty, assessment coordinator, department administrator, interim marketing director, Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Provost, and CAO. Since July 1, 2025, he is serving as the OACC Director of Institutional Research and Marion Tech’s Chief Strategy Officer. He has served as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 2007, is a member of the HLC Institutional Action Council (IAC), and serves as a mentor for the HLC Student Success Academy. He was a member of the River Valley Local Schools Board of Education for 26 years, board president for 20 years, and is currently a member of the Tri-Rivers Career Center Board of Education. He is the past board chair of Ohio Health/Marion General Hospital, a past member of the Ohio Health System Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Ohio Health System Faith, Culture, and Community Benefit committee.
